Inscryption is a rougelike dark deck-building game with escape room elements and dark secrets lurking behind every corner and in plain sight. As the game begins, you don’t get your own fresh start, you have to play the game from an existing save file. You load the save and eyes peer out from the darkness in front of you, “Another challenger… It has been ages.” the figure before you speaks, “Perhaps you have forgotten how this game is played.”. You learn the basics of the battling, you are shown a map and the figure explains that you are lost in the forest and must follow the path to the end. Upon completing your first few battles you notice that one of your cards is talking to you, it asks for help and accuses the figure of trapping him in the card to watch him suffer.
